The Sim Wha Taekwon-Do Club was founded in 1997 and is currently affiliated internationally to the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) and nationally to the South African Taekwon-Do Association (SATA). Sim Wha Taekwon-Do currently has three Dojangs (Schools) located in Johannesburg, South Africa – two in Randburg and one in Ennerdale.

Taekwon-Do is a Korean Martial Art that was developed during the 1940's and officially recognized in 1955. The name Taekwon-Do directly translated means: Tae (Foot Fighting) Kwon (Hand/Fist Fighting) Do (Art or Way of) – therefore “The Art of Hand & Foot Fighting”.
